SLOW CURSOR MOVEMENT OF AUTOCAD LT 2016 FOR MAC ON OS X EL CAPITAN

I have installed autocad lt for mac 2016 on os x el capitan 10.11.1 on my early 2013 macbook pro with nvidia gt 650m 1024mb graphics card and 16 gb ram.

I have found out that cursor movement is very slow and jerky in comparison to autocad lt 2015 on os x yosemite.

It seems that FPS decrease very much in the drawing area only.

I am using LOGITECH M105 MOUSE. However, this happens with every mouse.

Please address this issue, as this is affecting my productivity badly.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

It all depends on your Mac hardware and how complex the drawings are.
Do you have such issue with all drawings? Even with new, just created?

The drawings are floor plans. Should not be considering complex.

It is new. New file. New program. And brand new mac.

I need help.

This is a known issue along with disappearing of objects on screen, during zooming.

I hope they address it soon, as it is almost two months & there are no signs of any solution!!!

>>>It is new. New file. New program.
I mean a new EMPTY drawing.

Do you use Parametric constraints in your drawings?

Hi Maxim,

some me serious issues have to be addressed soon. Everybody is spending huge amount on AUTOCAD for MAC.

Moreover, both the issues  have been accepted by AUTODESK as bugs. Moreover, these issues are seriously affecting he productivity. Almost after two months of release no signs of even the SERVICE PACKS.

sorry but very much disappointed with AUTODESK SERVICE FOR THEIR MAC CUSTOMERS. I think we are treated as their secondary customers to their windows counterpart.

Hi Rikhav

Strange, but I do not experience any noticeable problems with cursor movement in AutoCAD 2016. Maybe because I am still using AutoCAD on Yosemite, not on El Capitan.
I can reproduce the issue with disappearing of the drawing contents during ZOOM operations, but it manifests itself rarely in my case: only in the large, complex drawings. Again, maybe it is because of my "out of the date" operating system.

Graphics glitches, visual performance decreasing and other issues related to the app visualization, are related to the new graphics libraries in El Capitan. AutoCad for Mac runs smoothly on previous versions of OSX, equipped with old but powerful OpenGL libraries.

With the introduction of Metal with El Capitan, app developers have still to get used to the new graphics libraries, and Apple is still on his way to improve Metal release by release.

As a personal experience, I have a MacPro (the black One) and a fully loaded 27" inch iMac. I had the same issues reported by the poster with both the machines running El Capitan. I rolled back to Yosemite and... Everything fixed, the panning is smooth again, as other graphics aspects that are more related with the comfort of use are now as they should be.

I understand and agree with you. However, our office is using other CAD softwares like ARCHICAD, which is running absolutely fine with OS X EL CAPITAN. AUTOCAD also had issues with Yosemite, when it was released. It was making graphics unstable, with Yosemite also and that issue is very well documented.

I think Apple and AUTODESK needs to sit together and sort out such issues, which is affecting user's productivity. I am of the firm opinion that AUTOCAD FOR MAC does not get that frequent updates that WINDOWS users get, which should not be the case.
