SHOW/HIDE LINE WEIGHTS NOT WORKING

THE VIEW TOGGLE BUTTON DOES NOT KEEP LINE WEIGHTS HIDDEN. SEEMS TO LOSE THE SETTING WHEN I GO INTO THE BLOCK EDITOR, OR SOMETIMES WHEN I CUT AND PASTE SOMETHING. HERE'S A SCREEN VIDEO SHOWING WHAT I MEAN.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Laurie,

Do you have "Display Plot Styles" option enabled in Page Setup? If yes, then you may look at this article:
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/linewe...

Does this happen in only one specific drawing? Or you can see the issue in all drawings, even in newly created.

If this happens with all drawings you may try to restart your Mac as the first step.
If restart doesn't help and problem showed up unexpectedly (everything was correct before), you may try to Reset AutoCAD.

Hi Maxim -

it happens whether DISPLAY PLOT STYLES is turned on or off. Turned off, all lines are shown in their color, but again with the default line weight. And it happens in all files.

I have rebooted my computer and it and it hasn’t changed. By “resetting” acad, do you mean uninstalling and reinstalling? Would I have to abandon my user settings and start over? That’s not something I am interested in.

I have been using acad for 25 years; learned it on MS DOS, before windows. But it was only last year that I switched to Mac. I have found that there are a lot of bugs related to settings and visibility. This is one of the more annoying ones, but it only affects workflow not plotting. There is another worse bug, that changes the scale of dimensions in paper space randomly. The number of times that I am on a job site with a plan that shows a rest room dimension as 225’, for example, is really becoming problematic. I’ll be posting that issue separately.

So - I just think Autodesk needs to pay more attention to the Mac applications. It’s only been a few years, but they can’t solve the bugs if they don’t know about them.

Hi Laurie,

Can you share one of the drawings with "show lineweight" toggle problem?
If it uses custom plot table style, then don't forget to attach it too.

By resetting AutoCAD I meant using menu "AutoCAD -> Reset AutoCAD", but keep in mind that you will loose all your customizations after resetting. Before resetting AutoCAD I want to look at your drawing (If you wish). And one more question: do you see that issue from the beginning, just after you installed AutoCAD and started using it? Or it starts to show suddenly?

Sure - here -

I also posted a screen cap video earlier, so look at that too, in the attached files.

But, like I said, it's not file-specific....

Seems like I lose the setting after zooming in....try that...?

I use a Mac trackpad instead of a mouse... pinch and zoom a possible factor?

No, I cannot reproduce the problem on my side. Lineweight toggle button works fine on my side.
What about your hardware (Mac specs)?

And AutoCAD version you are using.
