Sheet Set Manager: Poor Performance on Network

Sheet Set Manager: Poor Performance on Network

Aloha,

Our office has been having issues with performance when accessing a file located on a shared drive on a Mac Server (10.11.6) and Server version 5.1.7. When the user attempts to access the file, the Sheet Set Manager beachballs, runs slow, and sometimes the application has to be Force Quit. Do you have any recommendations on how to alleviate or or correct this problem?

Please let me know if more information is required. Using AutoCAD for Mac 2016.

Aloha @Anonymous,

Have you noticed if this happens with all files or a specific few?

Have you applied all updates to AutoCAD 2016?

Hi, yes we've installed all of the updates. It happens only when the .dwg's and .dst's are located on the network as described above. We do not run into this issue when accessing .dwg's and .dst's on the local drive.

Hi,

What network protocol are you using?

SMB should work according to official information.
To say true, I newer tried to use Project manager over network, maybe there is still some bug in AC for mac related to this.

Hi @Emmsleys,

Does Autodesk have any leads on a solution?  We have installed all of the updates. It happens for projects when the .dwg and .dst are located in the network. As @maxim_k asked, we have an SMB network, and he hasn't run into this issue before and it might be a bug with AC for Mac.

@Anonymous,

I can log a defect for this issue. Let me do some additional research and circle back to this thread.
