on my desktop computer, i inadvertently reset my program & now when i try to viewport freeze a layer, it turns off entire model space layer

on my laptop, the layers can be individually frozen in same viewport, so it must be a setting on my desktop machine

please advise... thanks

Hi @Anonymous,

On your desktop, have you noticed if this happens even in a new file? Or is it only with existing files?

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

You need to change settings in LAYFRZ command in such a way that it uses the option "Vpfreeze" instead of "Freeze".

Look at the command prompt options you need to type (marked in red):

Command: LAYFRZ
Current settings: Viewports=Vpfreeze, Block nesting level=None
Select an object on the layer to be frozen or [Settings/Undo]S
Enter setting type for [Viewports/Block selection]V
In paper space viewport use [Freeze/Vpfreeze] <Vpfreeze>: V
Select an object on the layer to be frozen or [Settings/Undo]TEXT
Layer "TEXT" has been frozen in this viewport.
Select an object on the layer to be frozen or [Settings/Undo]
Command:

Maxim
