Rendering on a MAC

Hi Guys,

I have been watching some YouTube videos about rendering and it all looks simple. They all say I can drag and drop materials or assign materials. (I think the assign is working but every time I try to drag and drop the material keeps flying back to where I selected it.

I can't find the render tea pot icon and every time I go to View, Render. The render window does not appear.

I am a lecturer at a college and have downloaded the educational software for a MAC Book Pro, will this have anything to do with me not finding the render icon???

All the materials are locked. How can I unlock them? Is this a part of the problem? Is the educational software missing the render feature???

Help I am pulling out the little hair I have.

Thanks in advance

Hello @steven.rieleyRG6PS

Rendering option was remove for AutoCAD for MAC from version 2017. If you are using the latest version of AutoCAD for MAC then you wont find this feature.

If you are looking to render somethings, then try rendering online using the link below:

Hope that helps :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa:

Hi @steven.rieleyRG6PS ,

>>>>I can't find the render tea pot icon and every time I go to View, Render. The render window does not appear.

As @vinodkl mentioned, Rendering is not available in AutoCAD for Mac.

>>>>> I can drag and drop materials or assign materials.

On Mac you cannot drag materials from Material Browser, instead - you select object, then select material in the Material browser, right-click and select "Assign to selection"

>>>>All the materials are locked. How can I unlock them?

You cannot edit or create materials in AutoCAD for Mac, this feature also is not available.

... OR install and run the Windows version of AutoCAD on that MAC since that's likely what your students will use, what all he YouTube videos show way more of, there are thousands of free tutorials on it on the web, and the industry your students will be going into also mostly use too https://machow2.com/best-way-run-windows-mac/
