Problems with fonts while publishing plans

Problems with fonts while publishing plans

I have this very annoying problem. I can adjust the font in autocad to a different type of font. However, when I publish and send it to someone it does not show the right type of font.

For example. I have attached what I see when I publish plans, the I will show how someone else sees them when I sent it.

Is there a fix for this? It is very annoying.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!

Hi @Anonymous

Do you send PDF?

If yes, how do you create this PDF? What Printer are you using in AutoCAD?

Please specify also your AutoCAD and macOS versions.

Can you share sample PDF file with this problem here on the Forum?

Looks like you are using custom font and it is not saved inside PDF file for some reason.

Max,

I'm using Autocad 2019. I use the batch publish feature. I have attached my preset here.  I'm sure the fix is something simple I just can't fix it.

Thank you!

Priscilla,

With his standard preset AutoCAD should embed all referenced fonts, but if you will look at >>>>this<<< Help article, you will see this Note about restrictions in font embedding:

The following fonts are not embedded even if you select this option:

  • Fonts that cannot be distributed because of legal restrictions, the determination of which is encoded in the font definition.
  • Fonts that are not TrueType fonts.
  • Vertical Asian fonts.

I think AutoCAD cannot embed True Type font because it cannot be distributed because of legal restrictions.

It appears you use commercial True Type font on your Mac. Isn't it?

Can you share that PDF here please, as you sent it to others?
If not, make another copy and remove whatever you are not allowed to share from it but keep that table intact.

Thanks.

Hello,

I took @maxim_k advice. I had the wrong type of font file. I found the same font in TTF and it works great.

Thank you so much!
