Problems creating PC3 file in Autocad LT for Mac

Hi

I am just converting from using LT for windows to Autocad LT for Mac 2018.

In windows I used to have different pc3 files for different printer/plotter settings. For instance one would print in mono and one in colour.

Can anyone explain how I can create different pc3 files in the mac version and also how to overwrite/change the one already created.

Many thanks

Paul

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Paul,
In AutoCAD for Mac you cannot create custom PC3 files, you just can fine tune settings of the predefined PC3 files, which comes with AutoCAD: "AutoCAD PDF" and "DWG to PDF". You can do this in "PDF Options Dialog Box":

http://help.autodesk.com/view/ACDLTM/2018/ENU/?guid=GUID-FA9F5B88-D035-46A2-8D1B-7CA45F26C123

You can change color settings for printing with different Plot Style settings when you create (change) Page Setup.

Hi Maxim

Thanks for your reply that confirmed what I thought might be the case.

The problem that I had was the printer uses preset files for size and colour/mono printing.

I think I have managed a workaround but still looking at all the options.

I have added another copy of the printer file to the system with a different name. This uses the default settings and I am able to tell it to use a certain paper size. I have then used the page set up to create a colour setup using a certain ctb file and a mono [draft] setup using a different cab file.

Just experimenting on paper sizes and printer trays now.

Regards

Paul
