Problem with .STB

Problem with .STB

I have just started working at a new office and I was given their .dwt files and their .stb and layer system and all that jazz.

But I can't seem to get the .stb to work. It's really stressing me out. I thought that the file was corrupt but I've had a friend of mine test it and it seems to work for him so I just don't get it.

Here are screenshots of an open autocad standard .stb and then the one I received from my office. I've copied them both to my documents but it doesn't seem to affect anything. When I go to page setup manager I see the .stb I want and I select it but its properties don't apply to the pdfs and when I click details I get the same window as the one I attach here...Also with the "path error".  Here is the download link for the .stb file -> https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7r-gndGELvXVGxOVEQ5a2wtcmM

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Ana Rita,

It seems you forgot to give sharing permissions to the STB file on Google drive - I can not download it to make the test.
Could you attach STB file here? You need to compress it (ZIP) before attaching in order the Forum system allow you to attach it.

Hi Ana Rita,

Try attached STB file - it should work now in AutoCAD for Mac.

What I have done:

deleted all "Descriptions" in your initial STB file using AutoCAD for Windows Plot Style editor:

2015-09-27 17-04-21 Windows 7 x64 Parallels.png

Maybe there was some characters in these descriptions which prevent AutoCAD for Mac from seen plot style names in this STB file.

With your solution, I am now able to see and edit the . stb file (as in screenshot attached). But when I use this .stb to plot my file it doesn't seem to apply any plotting settings as my drawing is still yellow and green and etc instead of black/white with different line weights. But after adding this file I was able to correctly plot the drawing using the old .stb file which I still can't open. This is totally crazy.

It seems to me that the problem is that in all of my layers it says plot style 005 / 012pr / normal / etc and then on the file you sent me I see them as 5, 12, 20 etc instead of 005, 012, etc..And therefore they don't match and the .stb doesn't work. But in your screenshot it seems that you do see them as 005...what would be the proper solution...? I am not able to rename the plot styles in the .stb file. I do but after save & close they go back to normal...

In my reply I showed screenshot from Windows version.

Now - screenshot from Mac:

And try file attached in this post, but don't save it in AutoCAD for Mac, because as you noticed as soon as you save this file in Plot Style editor on Mac, zeros to the right of the numbers (letters) go away - looks like this is a bug in AC for Mac Plot Style editor.
