Hi All,

I have recently been having a couple issues when saving my DWG files as PDF's on AutoCAD for Mac. When I plot a PDF the lines show as being very blury and distorted, the PDF's do however print correctly and show up okay when you zoom into the drawings. I was wanting to know if there is any way to change to a different Printer Diver when saving as pdf?

Any feedback would be greating appreciated

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

Could you post your PDFs instead of screenshots because on screenshots? It is very difficult to see "blury and distorted" lines.

I have the same issue.  Since upgrading to ElCapitan, using Autocad 2015 for Mac my PDF's come out unreadeble.  Is this an Autocad, Mac or Adobe problem?

Hi,

Have you checked lineweight settings in your DWG?
Did you change something in the drawing?
Or maybe you changed page setup settings (missing plot style table file, settings for scaling lineweights)?

No…no changes. When I pull up older pdf files created from Autocad, they still print well. So it seems as if something changed with Autocad’s use of the pdf converter within the program…or maybe something in Autocad is incompatible with ElCapitan.

I've installed two stand-alone pdf writers into my printer options and neither of them will save dwg files correctly as pdf's.

Maybe the case is in these PDF writers? Have you tried to use in El Capitan the same printer as it was on Yosemite?

Can you post one of your problem files (or part of it) here?

Thanks, Max.  I've narrowed it down to my latest lines and fonts since messing around with some settings.   I did a "pedit" last week which coincided with these issues, I think.  So now I find if I use the same text settings as before when it worked well, I get only the new, bolder characters.  Same bolder lines.  I must have selected a bolder lineweight or font somewhere.
