Plotting in grayscale and red

I realize this is well worn ground, but I am a beginner struggling on how best to plot architectural drawings in grayscale with dimensions and notes in red.  (I am on AutoCAD LT 2019 and using a HP DesignJet T120).

I am able to successfully employ monochrome and red (by putting all colors except red to black in the Plot Style Table Editor), but I lose all of the line variation in grayscale and the Preview is very harsh looking.  I tried in grayscale to turn all of the colors to black, except red (like I did with monochrome), but no red appeared in Preview.  (I only have dimensions and notes denoted in red).   What am I not doing or doing wrong?

Thanks!

Hi Todd,

You can try attached CTB file (unzip it before using).

I edited the standard Grayscale.ctb like this:2019-06-10_21-58-03.png

Maxim,  I am unable to change--and print--my existing Dimensions to red (to print in grayscale with notes and dimensions in red).   When I highlight a dimension in model space and change the dimension color to red, the dimension color does not change to red on screen; the color stays a dark orange. However the Properties pallet says the color is red).  I AM able to change the actual dimension number color by double clicking it and changing the color in the text editor to red;  however the leaders do not change to red.

Why am I unable to change the entire dimension to red?    Thanks in advance!

Hi Todd,

In order to be able to change color of the dimension elements in one pick (by changing color of dimension in General section of dimension object properties) they should have color property "ByBlock".

Select dimension and look at the Properties palette:

You can also verify settings of dimension elements color in the Dimension style you are using - this will affect newly created dimensions.
