Plotting & PDF Issues

Hi

I have a problem with plotting and saving as PDF.  As soon as I plot my drawing or save as PDF  the text & dimensions change to a series of boxes replacing the letters & numbers and the walls on the plan are printed or saved as dark splodge ??! Previous plotting has been fine using the same layout template.

See below

TIA

Your AutoCAD year version is...?
Your MacOS version is....?
Is the problem unique to this one file?
Or is this your first time plotting to PDF?
How is font capture set?

Hi Pendean

AUTOCAD LT 2017

Mac El Capitan 10.11.6

It seems to be unique to this one file.

I am fairly new to Autocad but not the first time plotting to pdf or plotting.

Not sure how to check font capture ?

Thanks

>>>...It seems to be unique to this one file....<<<
Replace the font in the file.

If it;s a stock font you use everywhere in other DWG files and they plot file, then INSERT the problem file into one that is working just fine for you (like a template), EXPLODE and plot to see if it goes away.

Hi,

If you are using Plot Style table - check it, maybe something has been changed.
If you don't use Plot Style table, then check lineweights assigned to the Layers you are using in the drawing.

Hi Maxim

Lineweights are all good on all layers & plot style table is as it should be - acadlt.ctb

Thanks

What about "Scale Lineweights" option in the page setup?
If you have it checked, then try to uncheck.

The objects which have "incorrect" lineweight in output have lineweight 1.00 mm - you can check this by selecting one of such object in the drawing and looking at its properties in the Properties palette:

I also noticed that current lineweight in your drawing is also set to 1.00 mm for some reason.

I haven’t changed any lineweights, I thought they were all set to default, is the default setting no good ? Appreciate your help

Lineweights can be assigned as Layer property. You have them all "Default".
If an object has lineweight property assigned "ByLayer", then it takes lineweight from the layer in which it resides.
If an object has lineweight assigned to some value, as some of the objects in your drawing, then this value will be used to represent object's lineweight. That is why some objects in your drawing have "incorrect" lineweight.

Now about current lineweight - if it is set to "ByLayer", all newly created objects in the drawing will be created with lineweight property "ByLayer". If lineweight set to some value, for example to 1.00 mm as in your case, all newly created objects will take this (1.00 mm) lineweihgt regardless of the layer on which they are located.
