Plot problems. Autocad for MAC missing "Apply to layout

Hi there,

I'm a student still learning, on Windows in the classroom but Mac at home.

The teacher gave a title block to XRef into paper space:

So, when working on windows I would normally make the following selections to resize the title block to fit the paper space:

1) Command: Plot

2) Select paper size (A3)

3) What to print - select window - select title block in paper space

4) Center plot

5) Fit to paper

6) Apply to layout

But, when working on my Mac I only have a an A4 printer so can't select A3 and there isn't an "apply to layout" option which would allow me to go back into the paper space to continue working:

I thought of trying to install a pdf printer driver to access an A3 option, but the Mac has it's own built in pdf function and won't install and Adobe driver. I know I can edit the page set up to get A3 and center the plot, BUT I still can't figure out how to "apply to layout" then continue working in paper space.  Why does it only give the option to print?

I would be so grateful for any help and advice.

Thank you, thank you, thank you...

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

AutoCAD for Mac has different from PC version workflow in applying Page Setups.
You cannot permanently apply changes to Page Setup from Print window (when you are using PLOT command) as you can do in AutoCAD for PC.

On Mac you need to create named Page Setup at first via Page Setup Manager and than set it current for the Layout you want to print.

To create named Page Setup which you can use on your Mac you need to use Page Setup Manager from File menu.

In Page Setup Manager dialog you click on "+" button, give it the name, select page setup to start from, clicking on Continue will open Page Setup dialog - it is the same as you can open from Print dialog, but settings you make here will be stored in the drawing.

Make adjustments here - select paper size, plot style table, what to print, etc. If you never used this dialog you need to expand it with small round button on the bottom right - you will see all additional settings.

After you pick on OK, page setup is ready for use. Select its name in the list of page setups in Page Setup Manager window, than use "gear" menu to set page setup you created as current for the Layout.

Now when you start PLOT command in the Layout with assigned named Page Setup you are ready to go with print. You can make adjustments in Page Setup from Print window, but they will not be saved when you will open Print window next time, they will apply only to current print session.

About paper sizes - you can create Custom paper size and use it for PDF output even if your physical printer doesn't support such paper size. It appears you already figured out how to create custom paper size.
