Performance problems with AutoCAD LT and my older MacBook air

Hi all

I've just started with the AutoCAD LT 2022 Version with my older MacBook Air. It's quite an old one but honestly I do not want to buy a new one only for Auto CAD LT. Does someone know if/how i can change the settings to a minimum so that the performance maybe is acceptable.

My MacBook Air:

Intel HD Graphics 5000:

  Chipsatz-Modell: Intel HD Graphics 5000

  Typ: GPU

  Bus: Integriert

  VRAM (dynamisch, maximal): 1536 MB

  Hersteller: Intel

  Geräte-ID: 0x0a26

  Versions-ID: 0x0009

Metal-Familie: Unterstützt, Metal GPUFamily macOS 1

Thanks a lot for your help.

Cheers,

Stefanie

Hi Stefanie,

@Anonymous

Although your Mac is from 2013 or 2014 year, and I can suppose it has only 4 Gb RAM, you can try these:

- Turn off Dynamic Input

- Turn off lineweight visibility

- Turn off all running Object snaps (set system variable OSMODE=0)

- Do not use Polar Tracking

- Avoid using Solid hatches

- Avoid using a lot of MTEXT in your drawings

- Do not use External references, especially if they are on network drive

- Keep size of the drawings no more than 1 Mb

- Do not use PDF underlays

EDIT:

And:

- Clear Resent tab of Blocks Palette

- Set System Variable BLOCKMRULIST=0
