I am trying to complete a school group project and the teacher has uploaded a .dwg template that we can complete with the data we come up with. I'm using AutoCAD 2015 for Mac and I think he used the PC version of AutoCAD 2013. I don't think that's relevant to my issue but thought I'd mention it anyways.
Issue: On the teacher's template file, the viewport on paper space is 1:500 and the sheet size is the standard 24" x 36" landscape. The units are light intensity units, generic, meters. It looks like he created the file from an acadISO.dwg format as all the viewports scales are listed in metric and no imperial scales. However the linetypes are all the imperial ones, no metric linetypes used... anyways I would use this template except it's extremely buggy. Whenever I try to create another viewport, the inside is completely transparent and when I double click inside of it, the coordinates are changing when I zoom in and out but the drawing is not visible. Also there are a number of rectangles with the alphabet duplicated that show up over top the drawing.
Failed attept at a solution: I tried to create a new acadISO.dwg file, make the units the same, copied the drawing and pasted it in the new file model space. I changed the paper layout size to 24" x 36" (in cm) and then I went to create a viewport in paper space. It works, however the drawing is showing up so small it's just a dot when the viewport is set to 1:500. I scaled the drawing up by 10000 and the drawing shows up as it should in the viewport, but the scale of the lines are now different and the file is alot slower to work with.
How can I get the drawing original scale and the paper space 1:500 scale to display the drawing to match up like it does in the teacher's template?
