Panning and zooming don't work as intended on Big Sur.

I'm using AutoCAD 2021.1.1 on macOS 11.2, and the zoom and pan behaviour seems inverted: by default moving two fingers on the trackpad zooms, and holding alt makes it pan. This is the opposite behaviour compared to what's written in documentation, and how it used to work with previous versions. Is there a fix?

Hi @Anonymous

I don't see such issues on my side (macOS Big Sur + AutoCAD 2021.1.1)

Have you tried to restart your Mac?

Reset AutoCAD?

Already did both, the issue is still present. I've also tried toggling all gestures from the OS system preferences, killing most background app

OS gesture setting don't affect AutoCAD.
Do you have this problem from the beginning or it started suddenly?
Have you tried to create new account on your Mac, login to it and test gestures behavior?

It’s been a problem since I switched Macs, my previous one had Catalina and it worked as intended. I’ve tried creating a new test account and this fixes the problem. I guess I should clean my home folder from anything AutoCAD related and see if this fixes the problem on my main account?

You can try Clean Uninstall:

Welp, doing a clean uninstall and reinstalling did nothing. The problem persist on my account, and is not present on the test account.

Which apps or utilities are downloaded automatically in your account. Check Login items in Users & Groups pane of the System Preferences

In "Login Items" I only have SoundSource and Maccy, but that's not representative of applications loaded at login, as I have also two instances of OneDrive, 1password, Hidden Bar, amphetamine.app, TG Pro, Tot, Rectangles, Paragon NTFS and AdGuard for Safari. I've already tried to disable them all, but it doesn't help

Okay, so I did some more extensive testing to try to find the source of this problem. I create two clean accounts, on the first one I copied Application Support from my main user Library, and on the second I copied the preferences folder from the library.

On the first account all my utilities get open at login, and AutoCAD works as it should.

On the second account, the one to which I copied the preferences folder, presents the panning issue. So there might be some setting in some app that interferes with AutoCAD. Just to be sure, I deleted all contents of the preferences folder, log out, log in again and... the problem is still there. So piece by piece I nuked the whole Home folder of this test account, just to find out the problem persists. Whatever is triggering it from my preferences folder, it is permanent.

This is a very interesting investigation, but, unfortunately, so far with no visible result.
I found a similar issue on the Forum:
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-for-mac-forum/problem-with-pan-and-zoom-commands/m-p/6943579
In that case, resetting the settings helped solve the problem....
