Page Set up Manager not working

Using AutocadLT for Mac 2017.

This is pretty basic and I'm not sure why this is happening all of a sudden.

It won't allow me to modify sheet size in the page setup dialogue box.
I am starting a new drawing and need an 11x17 page.
I have repeatedly gone through the steps in Page Setup Manager to create a new layout, and then choose a custom size (with correct dimensions and orientation.  (for some bizarre reason 11x17 is not one of the offered sizes)
Finally I  click "OK".  Nothing happens.
Sheet size remains 8.5x11.
I have also tried to go at it from Insert > New Layout.  But this does not allow me to change page size.
And there's no template for an 11x17 in the template drawings to import.

Not sure if this is related but I also can't create a new drawing from within the program. It only allows me to choose a template dwg.

Tried to set up a phone call with AutoDesk but their sign-up is not working for me.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Lindsay,

If you are trying to use Custom paper size you created, then double check it has correct dimensions. Or try to remove existing Custom paper size and then recreate it, be sure to type correct dimensions for paper width and height.

When you create new drawing in AutoCAD it always uses one of templates, that is why it shows "Select Template" dialog window when you use NEW command to create new drawing.

Hi @Anonymous,

I was able to create an 11x17 page setup in AutoCAD for Mac 2017. I have attached it to this post. Please try importing it into one of your drawing files and let me know if this works properly for you.

[EDIT] if you prefer to not see the templates from which to start a new drawing, please try setting the QNEW variable where you can always work from the same template.

Thank you John!

It did work to import the 11x17 dwg template.

Is there a way to create your own layout within an already existing autocad file or do you have to use templates?

I haven't found a template for a 24x18 sheet, for example, which is a size I use frequently.

Or can you create your own template file?

I've just never created layouts this way, though it may have something to do with the fact that I'm coming back to Autocad after years of not using it!

Hi @Anonymous,

I am glad that worked.  I made a short video for you to show how I created the page setups for applying to layouts. I like to create all my standard page setups and save them either in a template file or at least in a DWG reserved for that purpose.

Any time I want one of my standard pages setups I can simply use the import feature inside of PAGESETUP.  I added a few more page setups to the file for you. Feel free to modify them to suit your needs.
