Not Plotting but shoving preview

I am trying to print out a dwg file from layout as usual and, recently Autocad makes a pdf preview file every time.

If I want to print out from autocad, It automatically turns into adobe reader pdf instead of printing. I have to print  from autocad, press print button, jump into adobe reader, set it up and print out.

Anybody could help me, please?

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

It is not clear from your post: do you want to print directly from AutoCAD an get preview in Adobe Reader instead? Or you want to get preview in Adobe Reader and AutoCAD doesn't allow you this.

And one additional question:
Which OS X do you have on your Mac now?

Are you trying to print from your Layout directly to a printer? And not a PDF?

I would like to print directly from my Autocad Layout to my printer as I did previously (the Plot settings are ok,I have been using it for a lot of time and they have always worked well).  My OS X is Sierra (Version 10.12)

Hi,

If you want to print directly to your printer and use PLOT command, than you need to verify printer name in Page Setup. If it is the same as it was previously, than go to the MacOS System Preferences, Print & Scan pane and look at the list of printers installed on your Mac, find the name of the printer you are using in page setup in AutoCAD and verify it's settings.
If you're using Batch Publish, than very that in Publish window you selected "Plot device from page setup" option enabled, but not PDF.

Hi,

Thank Maxim for your quick response, I checked all the settings that you said but unfortunately they were right and autocad doesn't print out from the layout jet.

The only solution that I can do is to print out using Batch Publish. This is quite annoying but at least I can have a copy.

Hi Stefano,

Inability to print directly from AutoCAD could be one of the issues related to the incompatibility with new macOS, so we still have to wait for the Update.
