Non responsive keyboard

Hi Everyone,

I hope this will be posted in the appropriate forum thread! I'm a new user to AutoCAD and am currently undertaking the Ask Lynda introductory course online (so bear with me!)

I'm running the most up-to-date version of the software of 2015, and have a Mac with sufficient specs (16gb, 3.1 GHz i7, with a solidstate, the only crap being the graphics card)

I've noticed that the program can be fairly glitchy or slow at times, and have noticed that sometimes it behaves peculiarly, but the most frustrating experience I continue to run into is that for some unknown reason my keyboard routinely becomes unresponsive and won't allow me to enter commands in.

All other programs are running fine, and are responsive. Anyone else expereinced this phenomena?

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

Can you reproduce the exact steps to get this issue? Or it appears randomly?
If you have 2015 version and run it under El Capitan: have you installed all updates for AutoCAD?
How you can stop the issue with keyboard? Do you need to restart AutoCAD? Or it disappears by itself?

I can’t replicate it…it just happens. I have to close down the file I’m working on and re-open it for the keyboard input to start working, it affects all the keys except for the function control keys such as brightness, volume etc located at the top of the keypad. Enter also doesn’t work..

I have a fully up-dated my operating system, as well as autocad’s..

I have no idea, because I don't have such issue, sorry.
You can try to reset AutoCAD from Application tab of AutoCAD preferences and test AutoCAD behavior.
