Hi I set my layout colour black as per client's request. However he emailed me back and said that it shows white on his end. Is there something I need to change?

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Josiah,

Your client should change AutoCAD display background on his side, because screen background is not saved in the drawing - it is application setting.

Hi @Anonymous,

Could you please attach a screenshot of how it is configured for you?
Is possible to export your profile and send it to him, but I want to be sure.

Thank you

Hi Johanna,

>>>Is possible to export your profile and send it to him

It is not possible to export profile in AutoCAD for Mac.

The client has all ready changed the setting and still sees white on the certain drawing. His other drawings show up black, when he previews the dwg it shows black but when he opens it it shows white. Is this clear?

Yes, it is clear.
When your client look at the drawing preview, he/she sees the preview thumbnail, created on your side, so that is why it is black.
What do you mean by "certain drawing"? Does he/she sees white layout background only in one "certain" drawing? And other shows black?

And one additional question:
Does your client use the same application (I assume it is AutoCAD for Mac) as you for viewing your drawings?

Hi Maxim,
I screen shared with the client because he did not know how to do a screenshot on his end. I realized that he was talking about his model space being slate ( or black), while the layout space was black. The preview of my dwg was of the layout space (and it opened in layout space as well). He did not know how to switch into the model space. We have got it sorted now. Thanks for asking for a screenshot :). It helped clear things up.
