MOVEBAK for AutoCAD Mac?

Hi everyone!

Newbie post here for which I've searched the forum and Google with no success.

I used to use AutoCAD for Windows and found the MOVEBAK command helpful as I preferred to file all the .bak files in a single location thereby keeping hundreds of project sub-folders free of clutter.

I've recently changed to AutoCAD for Macand the MOVEBAK command is not recognised. Does anyone know if there is an equivalent command or process?

Thanks for your help!

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

MOVEBACK is a part of Express Tools in AutoCAD for Windows, but not all of Express Tools avaliable in AutoCAD for Mac, MOVEBACK is one of the missing in AutoCAD for Mac.

Hi Maxim_k, Is there talk about including MOVEBAK in an upcoming release of AutoCAD for Mac?

It's pedantic but a lot of us who use CAD are creatures of system and seeing the .bak files alongside my .dwg files in Finder throws a spanner in the works of my filing system.

Hi CosmicRocket,

Sorry, but I'm not aware of this.
If you want, you can join current Alpha testing program:

and ask there.

Is there any new information about this in AutoCAD 2024? I would like to move my .bak files so that they don't ugly up my project folders.
