Hey Forum,

Does anyone know how to move a line to a plane.

(See attache photo).

The black line in the photo is not on the plane.

Thanks,

Paul

MOVE command while snapping to both the line and the element an option?
Or use PROPERTIES to move the two points of the line to the "plane" of the object?
Or...

Hey Pendean,

Thanks for all of your input.

Even though I couldn't seem to get anywhere with your suggested solutions, it may be that I was doing something wrong.

I decided to approach it another way.

I looked for how to get the distance between one point on the line and the plane.

So here is what I did.

I was in parallel mode, in isometric view.

I clicked the line command.

Then I used point filters, so, for the second point I typed ".yz" and clicked the cursor on the point of the line, then moved the cursor anywhere to highlight the plane.  As a result, a line (blue) was drawn perpendicular along the x axis to match the plane.

That way I knew that the length of the blue line was the distance between the line and the plane.

Then, Select the line, and move it to the endpoint of the blue line that was on the plane.
