Mouse/ Cursor intermittently stopping when using ribbon tabs and panels

Hi,

Running AutoCAD 2023 on a MacBook Pro M2, no issues for a few months until recently when jumping between AuotCAD and another document (reading survey notes) it was taking a while for AutoCAD to run, giving me the rainbow spinning wheel. I closed everything, re started the MAC and also updated to Sonoma 14 OS.

This solves the rainbow wheel issue but now while working the cursor almost freezes against the sides when trying to access the tabs, only solution it slide the cursor to the top of the screen and back down the the relevant tab.

The only solution i've found so far is sliding over very slowly but this isn't ideal as I need to slow down each time I want to click a tab, not very productive.

Screen recoding to try to help explain.

Anybody else having a similar issue or have a solution.

Thanks

Hi Nik,

@nick

AutoCAD 2023 for Mac it is not yet supported on macOS Sonoma, it still hasn't received the update.

Only AutoCAD 2024 for Mac has received the Update to fix compatibility issues with new macOS Sonoma, so you need to upgrade to 2024 version and install 2024.1 Update.

Alternatively you need to wait for an Update for 2023 version, which should be released, but release time is unknown.

Hi Maxim,

Thanks for the quick reply. upon checking for updates I'm possibly using AutoCAD2024 - See screen shot, top left 2024, tab about says 2023, hence why I'd first assumed it was 2023. All appears to be unto date.

Thanks

Yes, it is AutoCAD LT 2024 and it is not up to date.

Your version is 2014.01 but you need 2024.1 - 2024.1 Update

Hi @nick, Some other users mentioned that they often hit this issue when they set Graphics Engine to OpenGL. Are you using OpenGL or Metal? The setting is in AutoCAD Preferences dialog, General page.

Checked and it's using Metal.
