Missing or Corrupt Display Driver on Autocad Lt for Mac

Missing or Corrupt Display Driver on Autocad Lt for Mac

Hi there,

During a session earlier today where I was trying to recover an autosaved drawing, my machine compretely froze and the only way I could go forward was to hard reset. After re-boot, when I try to open up a drawing with Autocad Lt for Mac or try to start a new drawing - I get an error message saying the there is a missing or corrupt display driver.

I have looked at the forums and this seems to be a problem that others have encountered although all the solutions posted are for Autocad for Mac not the LT version .

With the Lt version then it doesnt get as far as having the logo in the top left hand corner so you cant get to the "options" hyperlink.

Ive tried uninstalling and re-installinr twice - but no change unfortunately.

Any advice anyone?

Hi,

Which AutoCAD version do you have?
If it is 2014 with SP1 installed and later, you can try to reset AutoCAD as described here:

Hi

I am using Autocad LT for Mac 2015

I have tried the fix described and it doesn’t seem to do anything - the problem is that with this version you get a splash screen after start up to select what you want to do - (“Continue Working, New Drawing, etc etc) so you never get to the screen which gives you the Autodesk logo to click on to get to the options hyperlink.

Kind Regards

Unfortunately if I try to do a screen grab, as soon as I click on "capture" the window concerned disappears!

Use Shift+Command+3 combination to make screenshot of the screen. The screenshot will be placed to your Desktop with the name "Screen Shot XXXX-XX-XX at XX.XX.XX.png"

There was a check box in the bottom left hand corner which was labelled display at startup which Ive unchecked now in the hope that the startup would go all the way through but now it just goes straight to the error message and if you press ok on that the app shuts down.

You need to try:
to restart your Mac, remove AutoCAD with "Remove AutoCAD" application - uncheck "leave my preferences" during removing, than install again, update with Update 5 from here:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-lt-for-mac/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autocad-l...

Than launch AutoCAD again.

Hi there

I've been having this issue with Yosemite and AutoCAD LT 2016 for Mac. I've been attempting to run both in VMware, the installation for AutoCAD LT is no problem, but I keep getting that error message even after having the updates. Please help!!

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Trudy,

Are you trying to launch AutoCAD for Mac inside VMware macOS virtual machine?
If yes, then AutoCAD for Mac is not supported in virtualized environment.
