When I want pdf file of my drawing then I go to export.

On Page Setup I click Override now I can choose Paper Size.

When I click on Orientation horizontal It don't stay!

My drawing is coming for halve page? Its changed to vertical?

How can I make horizontal drawings to PDF file?

HI @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Does your page setup work if you plot to PDF.  I feel his gives you a lot more control during the process. Can you attach a sample drawing with a named page setup applied so I can see how you are setting up your drawings.

I am  happy to help sort out why the horizontal layout is not working.  What is the final size you want in your PDF?

You have to come to the website to post files: you can't do it by just replying to the email.

Why don't you try using PLOT command for more control, and give up "export". Try it.

BTW here is how you can get screenshots from inside WIndowsOS without using your camera https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/13776/windows-use-snipping-tool-to-capture-screenshots

Hi @marioplans,

I made a short video that walks through the steps to create a page setup. A page setup is where all your plot configuration is stored for a particular layout (or modelspace view).

In the video I show how the drawing is configured in Metric Units (mm).  I switch from modelspace to  a papespace layout.  This is ideally, the best place to print your drawings.  I start the page setup command and create a new page setup that adds the printer, paper size and orientation, scale, and plot style. I apply this to the layout I am working on. When I type PLOT (or use print or publish) the settings in the page setup should should up for the print job.

If you want to share your actual drawing file I can help you get it set up too.

Ad Dean mentioned, the Windows Snipping Tool is a great way to capture areas of your screen and even mark them up to indicate the area of focus.

In order to get 100% correct results, you need at first create Page Setup in Page Setup Manager, then use it in PDF export or simply in Print window.

The page setup is pretty much the same process on the Mac version. I made another video from the Mac side.

Are you trying to plot from modelspace? You have DISPLAY as the selection option, change it to window and window your section instead.

Plotting from paperspace? See attached, viewport is not scaled so do so.

HI @Anonymous

I had no problems getting the landscape (horizontal) A4 PDF from a layout.  This is a plot from Layout 1 on A4.

Are you perhaps plotting from modelspace instead?
