Mac OSX Security Update 2020-005 prevents Autocad LT 2021.1 for MAC starting

Applied the Mac OSX Security Update 2020-005 on 3rd October 2020 and Autocad LT 2021 stopped working. Have since tried clean installation of the current Autocad LT 2021 download, updating license manger etc with no success. This is causing real issues for me, I'm a sole practitioner Architect relying on Autocad LT to operate my business. Anyone in same boat or solved this?

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Bruce,
What macOS do you have on your Mac?
Is it Mojave?
I have found this article:
https://mrmacintosh.com/mojave-2020-005-security-update-causing-major-problems-updated/
Maybe it could explain the issues with AutoCAD for Mac too.
BTW, have you installed the last AutoCAD LT 2021 Update?

Thanks, will have a look at this - has happened to two similar specced macs, both running high sierra OSX and both updated with the security fix so looks like it is systematic.

Thanks I'll do that, it has happened to two similar specced macs, both running high sierra OSX and both updated with the security fix so looks like it is systematic, want to make sure others see it before upgrading the OSX.

In any case you need to have Time Machine backup or any other type of whole system backup before applying update.

Yes, seems there might be a feasible solution in rolling back the update but keen that it doesn't open the system up to security issues by doing so.

BTW - what does it mean? What happens after you trying to launch AutoCAD?

The icon bounces about as it normally would if getting ready to launch (if I right click it says application not responding), it keeps bouncing and then stops bouncing. No error message at all. The startup splash screen appears for a few seconds and just disappears, no error message.

Have you tried another user account on your Mac?
Do you see some sing special in Console.app, when you launch AutoCAD?

Fixed by Autodesk technical call who uninstalled 2021.1 and reinstalled 2021.0, apparently some glitch with 2020.1 working with High Sierra OSX. Been advised not to apply the latest 2021.1 fixes.

Will probably look at upgrading my machine and OS soon, it's  a 10 year old machine and although heavily upgraded, powerful and perfectly fine, the hardware will no longer be supported by Apple on their new operating systems.

Thanks for your help / ideas.
