Little blue dots...

Little blue dots...

Hi, new to the forum with a question for any savvy mac CAD individual. I'm using AutoCAD 2013 and I have a fair working knowledge for drafting in AutoCAD, though I don't do external references. Over time as I make new drawings and copy parts of previous drawing to work as as new drawings, I get these little blue dots covering my drawings (see image) and lines stick to parts of drawings. For example, when I select parts of a drawing to move, part of what I want to move sticks to random other parts of drawing that I haven't selected to move. And I get the color wheel of death and the program freezes constantly. I can imagine it's something I'm doing wrong, though this hasn't happened at prior jobs. I hope it's something simple.... Thanks for listening.Mac Forum.jpg

Those are grips: they show up when you select objects, these are points you can click on and drag for example. If you only selected one object but all others show grips, then those are all connected somehow. Can't tell from your picture for sure though: could be a block, a group, or something else altogether.

Post your DWG file if LIST command doesn't tell you more about what you picked.

By The Way, this forum is for a dedicated software called AutoCAd Architecture and not a forum for autocad users in the AEC industry. You don't have that software since it runs in WindowsOS only. The MAC forum is way over there https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-for-mac/ct-p/4051

Thank you. These are actually not grips, they are about twice as small and they are all throughout my drawings whether or not I have made selections.

Hi Mike,

Looks like they are parametric constraints.
Try to use menu Parametric -> Delete Constraints to delete constraints (if any) from your drawing. When AutoCAD will ask to select objects, type ALL at the command prompt and hit Return twice.
Also verify that you have not Infer Constraints enabled in AutoCAD (look for the button on the Status Bar)
