lineweights not printing

Hi. I have AutoCAD LT 2015 for Mac. Drawings only plot with one lineweight. Separate lineweights for each color are set in the monochrome.cbt plot style and in each layer. There are two page setups - horizontal and vertical. These are both set to monochrome.cbt. Print with plot styles is checked.  In the Print dialog box, I click on Edit Page Setup to choose a page setup. When I'm in the horizontal layout and want to print the horizontal format, the box 'Use available page setup' gives me 3 choices: none, previous plot, or vertical. The horizontal page setup is not there. And vice versa for the vertical layout. In the past, choosing 'none' would print with lineweights, but no longer. I know I'm missing something somewhere, but don't know how or where to find it.

Can you attach your problem drawing along with plot style table? You need to compress plot style table file in order to be able to attach it here.

I cannot reproduce the issue with lineweights.
In the resulting PDF file I can see various lineweights according to plot style table file.

Looks like you assign an LWEIGHT setting to each object, and don't actually use a plot style table for line weights.

And on the "vertical" layout, the scale is so teeny tiny I'm not sure you really need to print line weights.

Are you wanting to really use LWEIGHT settings on the objects to plot? Let us know, since that means PLOT WITH PLOT STYLE is doing nothing more than converting your colors to monochrome as you've asked the program to do.

Neither of your attached pdf's have the lineweights. There should be a clear distinction between the thickness of the walls (.20) and the bathroom fixtures (.10).  I,too,  get the same .10 lineweights when I use Preview or Print. I assume there is some default setting that is over-riding everything.

The vertical drawing was never scaled. Just look at the horizontal one; it's scale is 1/2" = 1'-0". The wall lineweights should be .20 and the bathroom fixtures should be .10.  I have not touched the LWEIGHT setting. I've only set lineweights in LAYERS and PLOT STYLE TABLES. Could the LWEIGHT setting be over-riding the plot style? I haven't explored that yet. How would I go about doing that? Would I have to set each layer as current in turn and then check the LWEIGHT setting?  It should be set to "By Layer".

Perhaps I don't know the ins & outs of Plot Styles. I haven't used AutoCAD in 8 years and am just returning to it and am quite "rusty".  I'm basing things on how things were done in the past. I can't find a good explanation of using PLOT STYLE TABLES vs Objects; the PLOT STYLE TABLES command is not even listed in the Command Quick Reference on the main HELP page!

Your DWG file's lines all have override LWEIGHT settings: LWEIGHT settings have nothing to do with plot style tables or output. Any reason you've never turned that off?

The PDFs posted by a fellow user @maxim_k above do indeed have line weight settings. Here is a screenshot, zoomed in to avoid the PDF viewer from "speeding up" the display by dropping such vital info. Zoom in, do you suddenly see linewights in your own generated PDFs?

Thanks; but I've never touched the LWEIGHT settings. From what I see they are set to "By Layer".  How do I turn them off?

While I see the lineweights where you've blown the drawing up to full scale, on an 8.5"x11" drawing at 1/2"=1'-0", the lineweights do not show or print. All the lines look the same.

Hi @Anonymous,

As we worked through the issue this morning via remote session, we decided to create a drawing with  x number of lines. Then assign each line a unique color. Then you will go into your CTB file and assign a line weight to each color, plot to verify that the lineweights are correct.

Then you will add your CTB file(s) to page setups that represent the various plot sizes and configurations that you desire.

Finally, you will save your page setups in a "template" file for future use.
