Lineweights not printing in AutoCAD LT 2015 for Mac

Lineweights not printing in AutoCAD LT 2015 for Mac

Hi. I have AutoCAD LT 2015 for Mac. Drawings only plot with one lineweight. Separate lineweights for each color are set in the monochrome.cbt plot style and in each layer. There are two page setups - horizontal and vertical. These are both set to monochrome.cbt. Print with plot styles is checked.  In the Print dialog box, I click on Edit Page Setup to choose a page setup. When I'm in the horizontal layout and want to print the horizontal format, the box 'Use available page setup' gives me 3 choices: none, previous plot, or vertical. The horizontal page setup is not there. And vice versa for the vertical layout. In the past, choosing 'none', would print with lineweights, but no longer. I know I'm missing something somewhere, but don't know what or where to find it.

Thanks in advance for help!

Hi @Anonymous,

Can you give me some screen shots?  I also recommend installing a driver for a wide-format printer (color) that will give you a variety of page/paper options.  Then pre-configure a page setup so you can apply that to your drawing.

Can you attach your ctb file please so I can take a look?

I look forward to helping you resolve this problem.

Thanks for your help, John.

The drawing and the plotstyle are attached. Lineweights were set in LAYERS  and in PLOT STYLE TABLES. I did not use LWEIGHT. (LWEIGHT shows "By Layer"). The drawing is 8-1/2" x 11", so there should be no problem printing based on size. Something is over-riding the settings and I can't figure out what.

OP is double-posting: they are using LWIEGHT settings, see ongoing thread discussion over here http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-for-mac-general/lineweights-not-printing/td-p/6366548/jump-to/...

Hi @Anonymous,

I opened the layer properties and cleared all the lineweights that are assigned to the Viewports. Then I opened your CTB file and changed the value for Cyan to .9 as an example. Then I ran the plot (save to PDF and the linewieghts appear fine.

John, how do I clear all the viewport lineweights? Is it done individually or is there a way to do it all at once? Did you set them to "by layer"? (Not at my computer now, will try when I get back).
Thanks,
Cathy

Hi @Anonymous,

I opened the Layer Manager, selected all the layers and then selected Default in the VP lineweight column

Hi John,

I tried it but it didn't make a difference as you can see from the attached pdf. I tried making the cyan the fattest lineweight; I can see the thickness in model space but not paper space.

It seems that the lineweights may be there in paper space, but are so subtle as to be unnoticeable. If you zoom way in, you can see them.

Hi @Anonymous

I don't have my Mac currently, but if you look in the Layer Properties window you need to remove the VP lineweights. Then everything should behave properly. I will make a video tomorrow for you and update my post.

Are you asking in the MAC forum? Why are you still in this forum, it's obvious Windows users cannot help you, even if they work for Autodesk :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa:

See attached, problem cured, all LWEIGHT settings removed.

There is no indication that this is a windows only forum. I have LT so I posted in the LT forum. And, yes, I have posted in the Mac forum, too.

I made a pdf of the file you attached and I still get no lineweights. Yes, as you noted previously, the lineweights are there in you zoom way in, but otherwise they are so subtle as to be indistiguishable.

I think everyone telling you it's a Windows forum ought to be enough :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa:

In Adobe Acrobat Reader DC in Windows 7 I see linewights when I zoom it: too subtle perhaps but that's the problem with your CTB settings that you can fix on your own
