LAYMCH is not moving objects to a block's insertion layer

I am working on AutoCAD LT for Mac.

When I use the LAYMCH command, I select the objects to be changed then, when prompted to select an object on the destination layer, I select a block.

Rather than moving the objects to the layer than the block is inserted on, AutoCAD is moving the selected objects to the layer that the block's linework is drawn on in the block definition (typically layer 0).

I've never had this occur with other versions of AutoCAD, and I'd really like it to stop.

Any suggestions?

Your LT for MAC version is...?
Your MAC OS is...?

Can you post a sample DWG that shows a problem block and an identical block you did not touch with LAYMCH command?

Hi Chris,

I think it is a bug (or feature?) in AutoCAD for Mac.
I tested the issue in 2016 - 2019 versions and can reproduce this issue in all of them.

That's a shame. I was holding out hope for some secret variable or setting I could change.
