install an Acad.pat file in Mac

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

I have been using Acad since 1986. I have been using PC based Acad and Acad LT on the Windows platform for years. I have an ACAD.PAT file that I have been updating over the years and would install it into each new upgrade. Never a problem.

Well, I updated to ACAD LT 2016 for Mac. I am new to the Mac platfrom so I have no idea how to install the file now.

Does anyone know how to get the file location? I did in Windows, but am at a total loss on this Mac.

Thanks

Lou

Hi @Anonymous,

This is actually pretty easy to do on a one by one basis.

Open the Hatch Library on your screen in AutoCAD for Mac.

Drop down the list to show Custom

Towards the bottom of the list is "Add Patterns"

Select this and it allows you to add the hatch pattern.

If you want to get into the Hatch location on your Mac, the default location is /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/AutoCAD 2016/R20.1/roaming/@en@/support/Hatch Patterns.

Normally this location is hidden. So, in FINDER select HOME from the GO menu. Next, from the VIEW menu select SHOW VIEW OPTIONS. near the bottom selet SHOW LIBRARY FOLDER

Please hit the Accept as Solution button if my post fully solves your issue or answers your question.

Welcome to the Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

It is not difficult:

Call HATCH command, then:

acad_pat.gif

....you are in place you are looking for.

Note. To see the animation in my reply better - right click on it and select "open in new tab (window)".
