Hi there,

I have recently purchased a MAC and loaded ACAD 2018 Lt onto it (Previously using 2017 on a PC). When I import a picture (Jpegs or PNG files), the picture appears but if I close the ACAD application and re-open, it only shows me the pathway and not the image.  I can confirm the pathway in a dialogue box as being correct and then the images re-show.  Is there something I can switch on so that confirmation of the pathway is not required every time?

Hi Carolyn,

Where are (in what place - local folder or somewhere on network drive) the pictures you are trying to insert into the drawing?
What if you will place image files (pictures) to the same folder as your drawing?
Make a test - attach such image, save drawing, close and reopen it again.
Do you see the image in the drawing area?

Many Thanks Maxim, Sorry for the delay - I was away last week. Same thing happens in the same source folder BUT I have found that if I re-open the drawing and open the 'external references palette' , if I click on saved path I confirm the location pathway as being correct. It then asks me whether I want to apply this to all images. Once I have done this, the next time I open the drawing, the images are there whether or not from the same source folder. Great that I have at least got this work around. Just wondered if there is a way of cutting out this step as the path is there - it just needs confirmation which my previous ACAD didn't.

What path settings do you use when you attach raster images?2019-06-17_12-00-33.png

Full, Relative or No path?

What path actually saved? (You can verify this in Xrefs Palette)

Thank you Maxim,

It comes in under relative path by default on my programme so I have done a text with relative, full and no path. Bizarrely, anything coming in under Full or relative will now show as an image when you re-open the drawing (i.e. problem solved!) while no path will not. No idea what has changed to allow this to happen, but very happy that it has.

Thanks for all your help.
