Import Solidworks files in AutoCAD 2017 Not Working

Hi!  I am using AutoCAD 2017 on a Mac running 10.12.1.  I am trying to import a Solidworks .SLDASM file created in Solidworks 2016.

When I go File>Import on AutoCAD, everything works fine.  I click on the Solidworks file I want to import, click import, and then nothing happens.  Absolutely nothing.

What am I doing wrong?

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

AutoCAD for Mac cannot import Solidworks files. It can only import SAT and PDF files.

HI,

A solution could be to use a converter to convert your .sldasm file in a format that can be read by AutoCAD for Mac. CrossManager can do that: ..

But CrossManager itself is a PC application, so you need PC or virtual machine (or Boot Camp partition) to use it on Mac.

Well, that would make a big difference.
