How to trim a block?

I am attempting to TRIM parts of a block that intersects with two parallel lines. However, whenever I select the two lines and use the TRIM command, all it says is "Cannot TRIM this object". Can blocks not be trimmed at all? I can't seem to find any other commands that will do the job.

Thanks!

Hi Jay,

You can trim objects inside block only by editing it in Block Editor or by editing it "In-place".
But keep in mind that all block instances in the current drawing will be changed.

Alternatively you have to EXPLODE the block.

@Anonymous look this video.

I think that this function should be available in AutoCAD for MAC.

Hi Eduard,

>>>>>I think that this function should be available in AutoCAD for MAC.
LINEWORKTRIM is not available in AC for Mac, only in Civil 3D and AutoCAD Architecture.
Нет такого функционала в AutoCAD for Mac, и вряд ли будет.....

@maxim_k thank you for providing this post.

If so, accepted solution - is really the only way out
Also you can change your OS and install Civil 3D 😀
