Help with Underlay Measurement

Greetings,

I seem to be having trouble getting an accurate measurement from PDF underlays.  Specifically, I import PDF floor plans and am trying to then use the measure function to get an accurate square footage.

Please help.   I know about the measure feature under "Analyse"  I can not seem to get the scale correct.

Who has experience with this?

Much appreciated!

Hi @Anonymous ,

At first I want to warn that measurements from PDF underlays will never be as accurate as measurements in the drawings from which this PDF was created.

If you need more accurate measurements, you need to scale underlays using Reference option of SCALE command.

If you know exact dimensions of objects in PDF, you can always scale them in the drawing to correct size.

Hi,

Thank you so much for your response.  I am familiar with the scale and reference features.  I chose an 8' dimension on the PDF plan to use to scale the PDF.  After doing this however, I cannot get ACD to give me a dimension.

Drawing a line out puts l= 000000    same thing with any other geometry as well as the area and dimension measuring tools

What am I missing here?

Can you show us by sharing your actual DWG/PDF files? Lets see your work to date, and advise on what in the PDF is a known dimension too.
