Help with Launching AutoCAD 2015 on 10.10.2

Hi,

I've downloaded and installed AutoCAD 2015 and the Update 2 today to my Mac running 10.10.2. AutoCAD will not complete the launching process. It consistently begins, displays a splash page (see screen shot) and fails to move forward from that point. Can anyone help me troubleshoot and load it?

Also attached are a screenshot of the "About..." display for my iMac and selected system report results in case those hardware specs are helpful.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,
Were you able to start AutoCAD at least one time on your Mac? I mean before you installed Update 2 for it.

Maxim,

I have not been able to launch AutoCAD at all. I attempted to launch before installing Update 2 and had the same result (i.e. splash window only and not launching the program).

Have you tried to launch from another account on your Mac? - you can create one temporary just for test.

Hi, I have the same problem with Yosemite 10.10.2. I also replied on a similar issue yesterday: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-for-mac-general/autocad-2015-not-start-in-my-imac10-1-autocad-...

I tried to reinstall autocad 2 times and also with a different account, but it doesn't seem to work.

Maxim,

I just created a new, clean test account and attempted to launch AutoCAD. Result was the same.

I see a lot of complaints here on the Forum about such issue with AutoCAD 2015 and 10.10.2. And I personally don't have such issue.
Some of the original posters were able to start AutoCAD from another account on their Mac, some of them were able to launch AutoCAD after they disabled Autodesk 360 application.
I also remember some cases when disabling "Welcome" screen on AutoCAD startup also helped to resolve the issue. In order to start AutoCAD without Welcome screen you need to launch it by opening DWG file from Finder (double click on it).
And of course there could be problems with activation. Maybe you can try to start AutoCAD without Internet connection (turn off WiFi or unplug cable)

Okay, I'm going to try to some of those approaches in a moment.

For what it's worth, I just attempted AutoCAD LT 2015 and get a nearly identical result. The splash screen displays and the loading animation executes. But, the application does not launch. This is different from AutoCAD because of the animation loading. Otherwise, it's the same result. I haven't applied any updates to AutoCAD LT yet.

Disabling internet connection prior to launching AutoCAD allowed the application to load completely. Strange, but true. That's such a bizarre workaround with no hint as to the underlying problem that I hope AutoCAD decides to fix the issue soon.

Thank you, Maxim, for your invaluable help.

And if you enable Internet connection - can you start AutoCAD for the second (3-rd...) time? I mean you need to quit I completely and launch again with Internet turned on.

Hello to all.

Using an AC 2015 Student edition I've the same issue.

The autoCAD starts and the spalsh appears but does not proceed.

It hangs and I have to force quit.

I have switched off internet and any network connections, I have also disabled Littlesnitch but the problem is still here.

Please help me.

Thanks a lot.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Pietro,

Could you attach System.log contents (from Console application) at the time when you are trying to launch AutoCAD?

You can try Reset Palettes from Window menu - if you can see AutoCAD menu.
If menu is not visible you can also look for solution about missing menu and toolsets palette here:

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-for-mac-general/autocad-lt-2013-app-store-download-no-menu-bar...
