HELP - Dynamic Input not working

TaylorC2E9A

Need help! My dynamic input all of a sudden stopped working. I used to be able to use shortcuts for everything, no matter where my curser was. I could define rectangles using dimensions (x,y). I could prompt a command questions no matter where my curser was. NOW, I have to do EVERYTHING in the command line - no matter what my dynmode is set to (1,2,3). Can't possibly have to resort to command line 😞

Also, prompts like MIRROR would always pop up "delete original? Y/N" and now nothing prompts, and I have to hover over the command line. This is no way to live! Please help!

Hi @TaylorC2E9A  Try using the command DSETTINGS and go to the Dynamic Input tab and make sure all the items or all the options you want are checked

No that actually makes it worst 😞 I can do some commands when I UNCHECK "Enable Pointer Input". The screen looks like the spazzes out if I have all checked... If that makes sense. A letter quickly pops up and then disappears.

So in DYNMODE <2> I can at least type a command in the field and it prompts ON the command line. It used to show the command options right next to the curser.

And in DYNMODE <2> I can define a rectangle by (x TAB y) no longer by just a comma.

@TaylorC2E9A Curious how a an actual program reset did not work for you: did you reset, then reinstall your custom backups (aka reintroduced the problem)? or something else?

Please post a screenshot of your ABOUT command pop-up and confirm your OS please.

See photos.

And see the reset option I used. I ONLY uploaded a .ctb file for plotting. Nothing else.

This is not AutoCAD LT, this is AutoCAD LT FOR MAC, another animal of software on another OS wither other problems&solutions as the Win version.

There is a "AutoCAD for MAC" forum next door and we read about similar issue there.

Hi @TaylorC2E9A ,

The only one thing you need to do is to install latest Update to AutoCAD LT 2021 for Mac :

I did a program reset, turned my computer off and on, and made sure that Dynmode was set to 3. If I have it set to 2 it works, and if I have it set to 1 it works, but if I set it to 3 it stops working.

What AutoCAD for Mac version do you use?

What macOS version is installed on your Mac?

I am running macOS Ventura Version 13.21

This screenshot shows the version of CAD I'm using.

I see you reference a 2021.3 Update but when I check for updates I'm told
that my product is up to date. See second screenshot

Hi Alex,

>>>>>> I see you reference a 2021.3 Update but when I check for updates I'm told that my product is up to date. See second screenshot

In order to be able to see an alert about Update, you need to enable Notifications for AutoCAD as Banners or as alerts in macOS System Preferences.

Or you can download Update from your Autodesk account:

https://manage.autodesk.com/

That worked, thank you for your help!

I'm still confused though because I do have alerts set up for AutoCAD on my
computer, these are the settings I had in the screenshot below. Also,
AutoCAD on my computer told me that I was current on all updates even
though clearly I wasn't. I think this might be another bug.
