Grip menu prevents dragging a grip

Hi - when trying to adjust an object by dragging a grip, I'm finding the grip is undraggable once the grips menu has popped up (and the grip has turned red). I can drag a grip if I manage to click on it before the pop-up appears, but this needs some slick mouse work!

Is this normal? If so, is there any way of delaying the pop-up by a second or two? I understand I can suppress the pop-up altogether by changing GRIPMULTIFUNCTIONAL ... but the grip menu is sometimes useful so I'm reluctant to turn it off (not least because I won't remember how to turn it back on).

I'm using AutoCAD LT for Mac.

Hi @roger3PGF4 ,

Set sytem variable GRIPMULTIFUNCTIONAL=1

Now when you select grip by picking on it use Ctrl key to cycle between MF Grip options - just  look at the command window which option is active.

For polyline middle segment grip you should see:

Command:
** STRETCH **  <--press Ctrl key
Specify stretch point:
** ADD VERTEX ** <--press Ctrl key
Specify new vertex point:
** CONVERT TO ARC **
Specify midpoint of arc segment:
Command:

Hi Maxim,

Thanks, that's very helpful. I think GRIPMULTIFUNCTIONAL=1 is the right way to go (for me). I just played around a little more and discovered that with GRIPMULTIFUNCTIONAL=3, I can pick up and move a grip (despite the presence of the menu) provided I hold down CTRL while doing so. Seems bit odd, or perhaps it's just undocumented. However, GRIPMULTIFUNCTIONAL=1 is fine.
