Freezing "Regenerating sheet"

Hello!
I'm having problems plotting some of my layouts to pdf.

I usually do -> Print -> Save as PDF and it works perfectly for some layouts but in some of them (in the same document), it just freezes the program showing the message "Regenerating sheet", and I have to shut it down, because I can't do anything more. And the size doesn't matter, since the heaviest one is plotting normally.
I've already open the file in different PCs (mac and windows) and happens exactly the same. I've transferred the drawings to a new one too.
I just don't know how to solve this problem!
May anyone help me?

Hi @barbarapontomiranda,

Have you tried AUDIT and PURGE in your file?  If you can attach it to a post I am happy to investigate what might be going on. Do you have any special plot style?

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

Well, I've tried to, but to be honest I'm not sure if I made it the right way because I haven't seen any difference.

I don't have any plot style and here is my file in attach!
Specifically, I can't plot the layout "FOLHA 2" and "FOLHA 4"

Hi Bárbara,

1. Audit has found 462 errors in your drawing:

Total errors found 462 fixed 462
Erased 0 objects

But even after fixing those errors I as not able to save as PDF the 2nd and 4th Layouts in AutoCAD 2017 and in AutoCAD 2016 for Mac.

At the same time I was able to save to PDF those Layouts in AutoCAD 2018 for Mac and even without fixing errors in your drawing with AUDIT command.

Then I went further and have found that the case of the issue was in gradient hatch, which is visible in the 2nd and 4th Layouts. After I changed the type of the hatch to Solid (I assigned it red color in your drawing and attached this drawing to my post), I was able to save to PDF the 2nd and 4th Layouts in 2017 and in 2016 versions.

Maxim

I have the same problem...or very similar. So, I do Print-> Save as PDF and it works for some layouts but in that one (also in the same document), it just makes the program closes immediately after the window with "regenarting sheet" is showed.  It doesn't freeze, just closes... I tried removed hatch, but it doesn't work.  What's more, on my friends' computers, the same thing happens (but only with my file).  What should i do? Please help...it's my semester project

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Katarzyna,
It is practically impossible to say something without having at hand you drawing. Can you share it here on the Forum? I'll look at it.
Sometimes the problem may be cased by fonts used in the drawing, sometimes something else....
If you cannot share it here, you can send it to my email - mkanaev@yandex.ru

Katarzyna (branicka_k)  uses AutoCAD for Windows.

The case of the crash is in the font which used in OPIS_SCHODY text style in her drawing - Bahnschrift SemiLight SemiCondensed.

SemiCondensed variations of that font (Bahnschrift ) cases AutoCAD for Windows to crash when printing or saving to PDF. Workaround is to change Text Style to some other variation of Bahnschrift font (don't use SemiCondensed variation) and AutoCAD will not crash.

Hi, I have the same problem. It is a file within a project. Other project files can be exported to pdf successfully.

Next the file.

Thank you.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Jeremiah,

You are posting in AutoCAD for Mac Forum, AutoCAD for Windows Forum is here:
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/bd-p/706
But anyway - how do you plot? are you using PLOT command or PUBLISH command?

Do you plot to PDF or to physical device?
If you have such problem in only one specific drawing - can you share it here? I can look at it.

I can reproduce the issue with plot preview and saving to PDF from your drawing.

I think there is something wrong in Model space (and you are trying to plot from Model space) and AutoCAD cannot create plot data correctly from it. Why? I don't really know, but I noticed that your drawing was saved in application that was not developed or licensed by Autodesk, that is not in AutoCAD:

So I copied everything from your drawing to new empty drawing ad then I was able to plot from this new drawing (attached).

I also was able to save PDF from your original drawing from BricsCAD application.

Hello maxim sorry for the late reply, been busy last few days. Thanks for the response and help from you. I found it working now.

But can i ask for one ast thing? im sure you have seen the dimension line color of the drawing. It seems unchangeable in color. I already changed the color into black under properties section but its not working, still in yellow color and others in red and green.

In the dimension style you are using for creating these dimensions, all lines have color property assigned to "Yellow":

 And text color to "Green":

2020-05-02_09-47-07.png

If you want them to have the color of current Layer, or you want to change their color with Color property in the Properties Inspector, you need to set their color property to "ByBlock":

2020-05-02_09-51-19.png

I hope you know how to modify existing Dimension style:

If you don't want to modify dimension style, you can change color of line elements in each dimension with Properties Inspector: select dimension and change color in "Lines & Arrows" and "Text" sections of Properties Inspector:
