Flatshot & Sectionplane is not displaying all objects. Autocad 2017 for MAC

Dear all,

I am encountering this issue with using Flatshot and Sectionplane. I have gone through the forum along with videos, though when I try to use the commands they won't work well. The Flatshot along with the Section plane won't display all the objects that is supposed to. It only appears just 2 objects from the whole floor. The drawing is an export from 3ds MAX as .dwg. I would like further assistance on what I should do or if I have to fix something in order to use these commands.

Kindly find attached my work, to actually try it out and maybe you can tell me what's wrong.

I appreciate any given help to further continue my project.

Thanks in advance,

R

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Raissa,

FLATSHOT and SECTIONPLANE don't give the results you need because most of the objects in the drawing are 3d Faces, but both commands can work only with 3D Solids and Surfaces (meshes).

I tried to convert 3D Faces in your drawing to Surfaces using MESHSMOOTH command  and was able to get the correct result (see attached drawing).

Dear Maxim,

Many thanks for your reply, I am grateful for the helpful solution and feedback. If possible, I would like to ask if how exactly the MESHSMOOTH command works, as I have already read this through Autodesk forum and still didn't work correctly. The attached images are shots taken while using the MESHSMOOTH. Hence, after clicking create, I guess it didn't get modified as the one you've sent me the faces are seen.

Apologies for asking again about this situation, though I am new to 3dACAD.

Regards,

R

When I used MESHSMOOTH I selected small portions of 3D Faces in your drawing, then the conversion went fine. When I tried to select all 3D Faces in your drawing - nothing were converted.
You can also try another method described here:
