Hello,
My Autocad LT MAC file is freezing frequently. (every 10 minutes?)
My Macbook Pro is updated running Sequoia 15.1.1 with 16 gb memory.
I have a recent version of the Mac LT 2025 so no updates needed there.
I have run purges, audits and overkill commands.
I have detached un-used xrefs. (currently do not have any)
I have stopped using other memory intense software like Google Chrome and PhotoShop at the same time as using Autocad.
Thinking that I had a corrupted file, I began to pull the model space information, and then the paperspace information into a new file. I have had to reset the viewports and the color settings of the viewports. However, in this new file, I have started to experience freezes again.
This is obviously unsustainable. Should I consider leaving the Mac platform? Get a new Mac with more memory?
In speaking with some Autodesk support recently they were suggesting that I need to begin projects from the template space, instead of continuing a new project from an old dwg file. That might be okay for the next project, but I am trying to salvage these drawings I have now.
Advice or thoughts anyone?
thanks,
Megan
After working on several of the suggestions above (thank you), and several conversations with Apple and AutoDesk and here, I think this issue was resolved by ultimately turning off HATCHES in my file.
Hatches used to be quite buggy years ago and it looks like they still are.
It was confusing because my file was only about 2MG and seemed like it should have been okay.
Anyways, thank you for your replies.
