File Doesn't Open Read-Only

When I open a drawing with the intent for it to be "read-only", I do click the box that says for it to be read-only, the file doesn't open that way. It opens as a "live" drawing. The only way that it does open read-only is if the drawing is already open by another user.

I have found the errors within my computer processes:

Connection to sharingd became invalid

SFBrowserCallBack (node= <SFNode 0x6100010fa180>{doman = Network})

I have not been able to find how to fix this issue. Does anyone have any ideas? My company has the drawings that we all share and work on, on a network. The problem has shown up for me and one other person.

The network has Windows computers and Macs computers on it. Mine is a Mac as is the other person’s which is messing up. The network is windows server 2012 R2 using a 64 bit system.
I am using Autocad LT 2015.

Hi,

Sorry, but it is not absolutely clear from your post which issue you want to fix.
Inability to manually open drawing in read only mode?
Errors in "processes" (not sure where do you see them)?
Read only mode for the user who open the drawing after it was already opened by another user?

If the last, than it is not fixable. It is AutoCAD feature.

Maxi,

I want to fix the inability to open ready-only drawings. I added those processes information just in case that had anything to do with the problem.
Can you help?

I cannot reproduce the first issue you describe in your initial post:

"When I open a drawing with the intent for it to be "read-only", I do click the box that says for it to be read-only, the file doesn't open that way. It opens as a "live" drawing."

If I check-mark "open read-only" in Open File window it opens in Read Only mode:

from both local and network locations.

Maxim,

I thought the issue had something to do with the "sharingd" becoming invalid but I just checked a computer that works properly and it has the same process issues.
Do you have an idea of what could be causing it?

Are you trying to open DWG in read only mode from the network drive?
If yes, try this:
Create new user account on your Mac (just for test, later you can delete it), login to this new account, mount network drive and try to open DWG in read only mode.
How it goes now?
