Errors and slow plotting on AutoCAD for Mac 2016

Hi Autodesk support,

We just installed the update on Autocad and keep receiving error messages.
It is extremely frustrating.
I have attached it in this email.
Both computers are also extremely slow and making plots is taking forever.
Could you please help and let me know what to do.

Thank you

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

I can suggest you to uninstall the Update 1 as described here:
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/sites/default/files/file_downloads/AutoCAD_LT_2016_For_Mac_Update1_Re...
and test if crashes will appear without Update.
If AutoCAD will be more stable and printing will be faster, you can continue to use it without this Update.

Maxim

Hi @Anonymous, I am checking to see what steps you might have taken to resolve this issue.  Slow plotting can be related to driver version, network issues and a variety of other things.

Please let me know how you are proceeding on this so I might assist you.

USEQUARTZFONT to 0 is something you can try to see if plotting speeds up.

I don't do much plotting other than to PDF on the Mac so I can't confirm if this works with hardware plotting as well as to PDF.

As far as the error screens, do these show up on all drawings or just specific ones? Can you attach a sample drawing for me to look at?

Try logging into your Mac as a new Administrator and see if the same thing occurs. Please also attach a sample file so I can see if there is anything unusual.

You can also perform a Reset but it sounds like your installation is actually corrupt. If it were my preference, I would uninstall and then reinstall (make sure that any anti-virus software is off).

Hi,

Are these crashes reproducible? This means that you can accurately reproduce the sequence of actions. which leads to the crash.
Or crashes are random?
Which kind of drawings are you editing? Were they created in AutoCAD for Mac or in PC version of AutoCAD?

Have you tried to remove the Update? Or at least Reset AutoCAD?

Hi Delphine,

Please send out the Crash Reports and let me know the Crash Report ID. After you send out the Crash Report, a webpage will open in your default browser, showing the infomation including the ID in format as CER_xxxxxxxx. If you input your email in the crash report, you will also receive an email with the ID.

Please send all the crash reports, as they may be due to different issues.

Thanks,
Wei
