Error importing from Autocad 2018 for Mac to Rhino

Hi all,

I've been facing problems since one month ago in importing dwg files to rhino with my Macbook pro.

I tried everything: saving in different dwg file (autocad 2013, autocad 2010, autocad 2004 ecc.), explode everything before importing, installing a lower version of Autocad for mac, installing a lower version of Rhino, but nothing. I keep getting this notification: "File has errors  --  Attempting recovery. Some objects may be changed or deleted. Read commandline messages to see recovery results."

I have Mojave as operating system, but I tried even with another macbook, with El Capitan, but nothing again. The same happens if I just draw a simple line in autocad and then import it in Rhino.

I tried to open those dwg files with a Windows, and it worked! So what's the problem with Mac now?

Hi Filippo,

I tried just now your scenario on my side and was able to open DWG file, created in AutoCAD 2018 for Mac (saved in 2013 DWG format) in Rhino for Mac (version: 5.5.2 (5F85)) on Mojave 10.14

Rhino for Mac cannot open 2018 DWG file format, further more after you attempt to open 2018 DWG format drawing Rhino refuses to open any other DWG formats until you restart it.

So try to save drawing in 2013 DWG format, restart Rhino and try to open that DWG.
And - which Mojave version do you have on your Mac? Is it 10.14 0r 10.14.1?
If you will share here one of your DWG files you cannot open in Rhino on your side - I can test it.
