Draw order on non-hatched objects

Draw order on non-hatched objects

Hello,

Does the draw order functionality work with 2D objects that do not have a hatch?

I'm trying to send a bedroom rug (which is a simple rectangle) underneath the bed. I'm selecting the rug and in draw order, selecting "send under objects". I'm then clicking on the bed and pressing enter, but the rug still appears over the top of the bed (ie the middle line of the rug that intersects with the bed is still visible). Screenshot attached. I've tried the send to back functionality and tried bringing the bed on top of the rug, but it doesn't seem to work. Am I missing something really obvious?

Thank you

Unless your "bed" has a opaque mask/wipeout/hatch of some sort, it is see through always since you only draw a bunch of lines for it.

Hi Shanna,

Imagine that all two-dimensional objects are made of wire (lines). In this case, they cannot hide what is behind them. That is why the bed cannot hide the rug, even if it is in the foreground.
As Dean mentioned in his post, only opaque objects - wipeouts, solid hatches - can hide objects behind them if they are on the foreground.

Look at the attached drawing. I put WIPEOUT object in front of rug.
