DIVIDE - Getting points instead of divided Poly line

Whenever I make a circle, TRIM one side/50% of the circle, PEDIT, and DIVIDE. I always get points and no divided polyline. With the PEDIT command it is also impossible to get a divided Pline. Anyone who can tell what I am doing wrong?

@maxwinkens First time using AutoCAD if I may ask? Welcome.

As explained in HELP in your AutoCAD, DIVIDE command does not break line/plines, never has, probably never will: all if does is place points (or if you chose, other objects) at equally spaced distances

And PEDIT only does the following (also from HELP):

If you re looking for ways in the program to break lines and Plines into segments, you will need to use the command BREAK https://help.autodesk.com/view/ACDMAC/2023/ENU/?guid=GUID-7F63FF08-BF72-4975-8AFA-B6B3DC058F35

if you are using AutoCAD, an not LT version of AutoCAD, there may be LISP options to customize to your need too.

I always used PEDIT to divide a bended line (ARC) in segments. All of a sudden it doesn't work anymore? Is It possible to connect a poly line to every point then? Whenever I make a ploy line and want to connect it to a point it won't connect...

Hi @maxwinkens ,

In the video, you posted you PEDIT a Spline, but not an Arc.

That is why PEDIT asks you about precision for conversion and adds additional vertexes to new Polyline, converted from Spline.
