Hi there,

When I use the rectangle to dimension a room, it doesn't give me the size what I want and when I do offset the same thing. Could you please help me with that?

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Morteza,

Can you illustrate somehow the problem?
>>>>>When I use the rectangle to dimension a room
Do you mean you are drawing a rectangle and its dimensions don't match the distances you want?
>>>>I do offset the same thing
Offset of what?

I don't have such issues on my side. How do you enter dimensions for rectangle, when you draw it? The same question about offset. Can you make screen recording?

You type dimensions for rectangle in wrong format:
when you type "2000,2000" AutoCAD takes this as absolute coordinates and puts the opposite corner of the rectangle at coordinates x = 2000 y = 2000 of current coordinate system.
You should use in this case relative coordinate input and type @Anonymous,2000 when AutoCAD asks for other corner.
Not sure about offset - it should work correctly.
Can you attach drawing with wrong offset results?

Hi,

Could you please do a screen recording and guide me how can I do the rectangle at coordinates x = 2000 y = 2000 of current coordinate system? Or we can do screen share from TeamViewer!

I think once we solve this problem then offset should works properly.

Now you show dimension input with Dynamic input turned on.

You can turn on Dynamic input on the Status Bar with this button:

Another way to toggle Dynamic input is with Shifr+Cmd+D shortcut or with F12 (Fn+F12) function key.

As soon as you turn on dynamic input, you can draw rectangle with method you showed in your screen recording -

you will see dimension input in the drawing area.
