Dimensions randomly changing scale in paper space

25 year ACAD veteran - learned on MS Dos. Switched to Mac last year.

Since I switched, this has been a continuous problem. Dimensions will randomly change unit scale; I'll check all the sheets, plot, and then notice that one dimension changed from 12'-0" to 345'-4", for example. Or, it will change to paperspace scale.

This happens randomly, even though all the dimensions are set to the same style and no overrides. I've attached a screen cap video below. (Looks like the resolution on the video is terrible - here's a still)Screen Shot 2019-03-12 at 9.50.19 AM.png

This is EXTREMELY problematic. No matter how careful I am, I still wind up with plans on the job site that have a 200' dimension for a bathroom. Not cool.

Most likely you need to reassociate your dimensions to the objects they were snapped tohttps://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-for-mac/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2018/ENU/AutoCAD-MAC-Core/files/GUID-8CD54B4A-4BA6-40E8-819D-DDBC013114B8-htm.html , or you need to recreate them: your DIMASSOC variable needs to be turned on all the time either way https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-for-mac/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2018/E...

Reassociating the dimensions would be more work than selecting all of them and reapplying the style. And, there is no reason why the dimension should randomly disassociate from the object. Besides, the dim is still associated with the object - it's the scale that changes.

The problem is that the dimensions are fine when I draw them, and they randomly change scale - and the scale itself is weird and random: -2303.9998 ???? Where does that even come from??

Do you put dimensions in paper space?
Can you share one of your drawings with such "outscaled" dimensions?

Yes I do... but I'd prefer not to share that DWG - there's too much proprietary info in there.

Just know that:

1) DIMASSOC is set to 2 and I never change it

2) my dim style is my own "standard" - I've been using the same style for at least 5 years, and dimensioning in paperspace. This only started when I switched to Mac last year. Never happened on PC.

3) when I check a dim that has mysteriously changed scale, it is still showing as "standard" - with no overrides.

4) there are dozens of dims on the same sheet that were done at the same time, in the same way, that do not change

5) the associated geometry isn't moving, so that isn't triggering it.

Please see the video that I attached, and the screenshot.

You can send your drawing (or a part of it with wrong dimensions) to my email:
mkanaev at yandex.ru
BTW, what do you mean by "dimension changed scale"? IMHO if it change scale - the elements of dimensions (text height, arrows size, etc.) will be changed.
Do you mean it changes scale factor - DIMLFAC System Variable?

Sorry Maxim - the scale factor changes, not the dimension elements....

You can see it in my screen caps below.

DIMLFAC for particular dimension cannot be changed by AutoCAD will...
Have you checked scale factor of a specific (wrong) dimension in the Properties palette? Is he really changed? And what do the measurement results show (ibid., On the Properties palette)?

Have you checked the points to which you snap "wrong" dimensions? Do they have the same Z coordinate in Model space?

None of that is applicable. Please see the screenshot in my first post - the problem is clearly indicated.

I was contacted by Autodesk support, so we'll do a screen share next week. Thanks for your help.
