I find this frustrating - I don't know if I have a system variable set incorrectly - but DIMANGULAR will not find lines contained in blocks whilst in paper space; I have to draw geometry over them to get a dimension.  Seems like the sort of work-around I shouldn't need.

I'm running AutoCAD for Mac 2018.2, on a 2014 iMac running High Sierra.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Nicholas,

I tested just now and it works on my side without any tricks.
Can you share the drawing where you have troubles?

Hi, thanks for looking at it so quickly.

I can't send you the actual file, but I have replicated the problem in a fresh file, attached.

I have put a couple of dimensions in there.  Can't get the Angular dimensions to select anything.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Nick,

You have such problem because of the Hatch, included in block.

I created new layer in your drawing - Hatch, moved all hatch inside block to it (in Block Editor).

Then I turned off Hatch layer and was able to put angular dimensions in paper space.

Look at the attached DWG (Hatch layer is still turned off in it)

Thank you Maxim, this has worked - thanks for taking the time.

I wasn't aware that hatches were so confusing for the selection process.
