Hi,

Really need your help. We just upgraded our computers to an M1 Mac and now using 2021 Autocad.

When I do a copy of a simple line or text  and paste to another opened file, I get a text containing /tmp/A$Cbd6a23dc.DWG (different values) on every drawing. This happens to every single file I have on our network drive. I have attached a screenshot of what it looks like pasted and what it looks before I paste.

Thanks

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi @laeloren ,

Does this happens only with drawings on network drive? How about local storage?

Do you you have any clipboard manager installed on your Mac?

Hi! Thanks for the response, but it happens to drawings on both network and local storage.

HI there again,

Can you please elaborate what clipboard manager is, I am not sure if I have one. I just installed the new software on the new mac M1. Thanks a lot!

After researching - I finally know what command is happening when I do the Command+V. However, this is not what I want, I just want to copy and paste. Why is everything I paste become a pasteblock?\

PASTEBLOCK:

As the command suggests it will paste copied object as a block in the current drawing. After pasting this drawing as a block you will find that AutoCAD will assign a completely random string of characters to its name which looks like A$605D409A but you can rename this block to something meaningful by using RENAME command.

>>>>>>Can you please elaborate what clipboard manager is

Clipboard manager is an application that adds functionality to an operating system's clipboard:

Here are some examples:

The default OOTB shortcut for PASTEBLOCK command is Shift+Cmd+V, not sure why it is Cmd+V on your side.

From your last answer I still don't get  - is your "paste problem" resolved?

BTW - have you installed the latest Update for AC 2021 for Mac? I resolves some issues with macOS Big Sur:

AutoCAD for Mac 2021.1.1 Hotfix

Thanks for the help. It's my remote desktop manager that's actually causing it. ANYDESK for some reason paste it as a pasteblock instead of paste.
