Converting 3D DWG TO 2D DWG

Hi guys. I'm bit of a novice when it comes to AutoCAD so I hope someone can help.

I have some 3D DWG files of office seating that were created by someone else and need to create overhead plan view 2D DWG versions of these.

If I simply open in AutoCAD (I have a 30 day trial) and export to a file as a dwg via the FLATSHOT command, will this create the best version. Or can someone recommend a better process? See image.Snip20170510_4.png

HI @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Here is a post from a while ago that addressed a very similar issue.  If this doesn't work for you let me know and I can try some other steps for you. Is it possible to share one of the drawings by attaching it to a post?

Hi @john.vellek,

OP already started new post here in AutoCAD for Mac Forum:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-for-mac-forum/converting-3d-dwg-to-2d-dwg/td-p/7074347

So this is double-post.

Plus - VIEWBASE command is not available in AutoCAD for Mac.
